Information collected

Enquiry and submission forms collect the information you enter, including your name, email, optional telephone number, mortgage goal, approximate mortgage amount, province, timing and message.

Purpose

The information is used to review and respond to your request. It is not displayed in the public directory.

Questions typed into the ask box

When you type a question into the ask box, the text is sent to our server and to Google's Gemini service, which turns it into search filters. The rates you then see come from the published records, not from that service. We keep the question text for 90 days to improve how questions are understood, then delete it. It is stored without your name, IP address or any other identifier, and email addresses and long numbers are removed before it is saved. Please leave personal details out of your question. If Google's service is unavailable, the page works out the filters itself.

Directory interaction counts

We count actions such as applying filters, selecting products for comparison, copying a comparison link and opening a lender source. These records contain the action, public page or product identifiers and time. They do not include your search text, calculator amounts, name or contact details. We use these counts to understand which comparison features are useful and respect your browser’s Do Not Track setting.

Page view statistics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and measure page speed. It does not use cookies, does not store your IP address and does not follow you across other websites. We only see totals such as how many people viewed a page.

The site also keeps its own daily totals of page loads: for each page, how many came from search engines, AI assistants and other sites, and from which country and Canadian province. These totals contain no IP address, cookie or other identifier, and no single visit can be picked out of them. Visits from browsers that send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted.

Mortgage information

Do not send identity documents, banking information, tax records or other sensitive borrower material through these forms.
